Just hold the "OK" button in for a few seconds and it brings up the manual focus screen. Then press the left jog button to go into manual mode.

Now you can press the up and down Jog buttons to focus. This feature will not work in Auto Mode. You must be in "P" mode or one of the other modes.

Unfortunately, the EVF doesn't make manual focusing particularly easy. In my limited experience to date, it's most effective when setting focus on infinity in near-dark situations when the camera won't focus automatically. For shorter distances, you basically have to guess (or measure) the distance to subject and set it on the scale at left, since the enlarged focus screen that appears on the EVF is essentially worthless for actually determining accuracy of focus.

I agree with everything you added.

just to add my 2cents

PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE LITTLE BLOWN UP PIC IN THE VIEWFINDER!!!!! Adjust the focus, then look at the pic as a whole. I have no idea why Oly. made the cam so it would "blow-up" the image in the viewfinder. All it does is distort the image so bad you can't tell if it is focused or not. WHY DO THIS???????? Just too useless.... I can't possibly overstate how useless this expanded image is!!!!!!!

yes, this is completely useless
although the auto focus system hardly makes any mistakes.
