Default C750 Zoooom

Hi, All,
Just got my C750 last night. Looks good!
Is there some way to tell when you have reached the end of the optical zoom range?

If it's like my 730 it has a two colour bar on the left. First bit is optical and second is digital, however I leave the useless digi zoom switched off, it just spoils photos.

Do your digi zooooooooming on your PC.

Thanks Steve. I agree! Why do they go to the bother of incorporating digital zoom in the first place? I was afraid I was sliding into dz without knowing it.

Digital zoom (DZ) is cheaper, and on some cameras DZ is higher than OZ (optical zoom), or some cameras don't have any OZ. It's also a marketing gimic.

I agree that you should just toggle the digital zoom off in the options menu then you will never use it by mistake and get a grainy picture

Marketing. Most people don't realise it's useless and buy into it thinking it's a good thing.

I also leave my digital zoom turned off -- unless I want poor quality pictures! If I need to do any sort of digital zoom, I'll do it on the computer.
