Default Help! Can't get photo's off a Smart Media card

I had the smart media card in the computer and while manipulating a photo I accidently saved two new images (both black and white) onto the smart media card. Now I can't get my computer to view the photo's (146 of them) and save them.

I can view the photo's on the digital camera (Olympus D-490 Zoom) with 4 or 5 of them being blacked out. I can also print all of the photo's (including the blacked out one's) by inserting the smart media card into the printer (Epson 925). I can't save them to my computer.

Did I reformat a portion of the smart media card? If I delete the bad photo's (I have 4 photo's that are black on the card), will this solve the problem?

One last thing, the photo I manipulated is an awesome photo of my twins so somehow I'd really like to save it before I try to delete it! :!:

I hope someone can help me figure this out or point me in the right direction for me to figure it out!

Thanks all,

If you have a card reader then try one of the image recovery programs that we have listed here (some of them are free):

I will look into the photo recovery software you recommended (the one that looks the best is no longer free - darn).

I read more posts that are similar and I checked the file again and got this information which might shed more light on what happened and help with answers.

Checking file system on F:
The type of the file system is FAT.

One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency.

The computer then did a file check and found no problems.

I think image recovery is the way to go then we'll see what happens with the cardregarding formatting or reformatting it.

Thanks and more help or info. is appreciated should anyone have any new ideas or solutions!
