Inherited an 8080
....from my wife's adopted uncle, when he upgraded to something else. While even my Rebel dSLR beats the heck out of it, technically, I really hate to let it collect dust.
I think I may set it up as a really high end webcam for my desktop rig, and since my office window looks out into the back woods, I may aim it out that way.

Hi: don't discount the Oly 8080. That camera had really excellent glass that is better than most of the Canon kit lens. It is built like a tank and I know from experience that it will survive some tough bumps. It will take some excellent photographs.

I've been carrying it alongside my "knockaround" XSi, just to get used to the different controls. It'll do video, too, which the Rebel doesn't do. My 60D does, but it's nearly new, and I'm still coddling it.

If you didn't get the manual for it when you were given the camera, you can download the instruction manual as a pdf file here:

To get better acquainted with it, you might go thru Steve's Review of the camera.

i agree with stephen, don't discount the 8080 it has possibly the best quality lens of any fixed lens camera ever! sure it's slow as a mule with saving, focussing and viewing but if you doing still life and landscapes its perfect:) its also fantastic for macro shots. I own one for a few years and although i have fallen in and out of love with it i still use it alot. the slowness is sometimes frustrating but there are plenty of examples of what can be done with it in the right hands.
