After much humming and haaing I finally chose a C750 as my weapon of choice. Im no pro, but Im a tech lover who wanted something that'd take great shots most of the time on auto AND allow me to play later when familiarity sets in
![]() I havent been disappointed. I love the camera. Only thing that concerned me is the amount of movement in the lens body. If you turn the camera upside down and right again you can feel the clunk of the assembly moving. i emailed Olympus and they suggested an amount of movement was normal, but this hasnt allayed my fears here....it just makes the camera feel cheap. Other C750 owners is this normal??? Thank you for any and all help ![]() Jim |

Yes, I've the same "clunk" with the 730UZ and others have mentioned in these forums about other cameras in the 7XXUZ series with the same sound/feel.

Thank you! Its hard to search for something on the forum when the noise could be called so many different things. But at least I've contributed to anyone looking for 'rattle' from now on!!
I do find it pretty disappointing though as in an otherwise solid quality feeling camera its a nasty abberation. I'll just stick to looking at the great shots it takes ![]() |

I have the same "problem", except when I called Olympus they told me it was NOT normal. However since my pic quality is ok I'm not going to do anything about it. (except constantly wonder if my camera is about to break).

That's why I leave a filter adapter tube mounted semi-permanently to the body. Kinda defeats the "compact" purpose, admittedly.

Hey, if you want to try to shake my c-5050 ....
clack - clack - clack - clack - clack   The body-camera is a rock but the lens-body.... It's a very very cheap sensation! Boh? Bye... |

The lens assembly on my 720 and my 750 do rattle. It hasn't affected any aspect of photography in literally thousands of photos and many different situations. I do have lens assemblies and UV filters on them. Doesn't affect the rattle at all, just gives me a better feel and protection for the assembly. I figured dust or blowing sand could potentially get into the works.
My 5050 hasn't rattled as far as I've heard. ![]() Jerry |
