Olympus stylus 300, Did I freeze it to death???

I have had this camera since it 1st came out, no problems at all. Last weekend we went to Northern Michigan, I left it in my suitcase for about 12hrs, Temps were single digits.... The battery was still charged, but it will not take pics at all and when I slide the cover off, the zoom does not even come out. Any suggestions? Do I try to repair, or lay it to rest and buy a stylus 700??? Thanks for any help!
