I just bought a new Olympus SP-700, which I really like, except for my problem with the movies. On my old Canon, I could view my movies perfectly (sound included) on my PC as well as my PocketPC using Windows Media Player (PC & PPC versions).

Looks like I can't do this with my Olympus since it appears to require QuickTime Player... and when I use QTP, the sound is all garbled!

Are there any solutions to my problems? Thanks for your help. Tom

Make a lossless conversion of Quicktime to AVI with SmartVid (search for it with Google) and then you can play the AVI as usual. SmartVid is a very old 16 bit application, which seems to hang after completing its job. Thus you have to shut it down each time with the task manager, otherwise it will heat up your PC.

Google for "Mp4Cam2AVI" a freeware program that converts MOV files to AVI.
