Hey all

Been shooting some macro with a B-macro lens on my C2100.

I *really* need to get a decent ring flash or some sort of macro flash that is close to that lens. When using my regular flash unit, I end up with pics that are well exposed on the top and black on the bottom.

Any suggestions on an Oly flash or an aftermarket flash that works well for this use?

Thanks for the help

Best regards

With the C-2100 you first have to get the $50 which will convert the proprietary flash connector on the side of the camera to the standard PC connector (note, that's Pin-Circle connector, like the old flashes use). Now the flash you get has to have the PC connector capability.

There's another option, and that's a slave ringflash (slaves are flashes that fire when they "see" the internal camera flash (or really any flash) going off...you need one that is compatible with a "preflash"). There's actually a few available from SR-Electronics, the old RF-50, and two new models, the L-Ring and L-Ring Ultra.

Digislave's homepage is http://www.srelectronics.com/

There's a third option, using a cheap flash handheld while connected to the camera via the above PC cable.

And a fourth, a handheld slave flash (this is what I do since my C-700 has the same proprietary flash connector as the C-2100, so I bought a Metz 34-CS2 Digital slave flash).
