Default A rival for the C2100 ??

A new Panasonic camera has just been announced which may interest some C2100 fans - the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ1. The camera has a 12X optical zoom with i what they call "mega optical image stabiliser" - in other words IS! The focal length range is from 35mm-420mm. IT has a bright lens - F2.8 throughout the entire zoom range. It will also achieve up to 4 frames per second. My only slight reservation is that it is only 2 megapixel. While this is acceptable 3 or 4 would have been nice. Still with 12X zoom you should never need to digitally zoom in your photo package!

See www.dcviews.com for more information.

Being a new camera it might sell for about $700-$750.
If that's the case then the C-2100 would be a better buy at about $450.

Before you go laying down some money, check the modes on that camera. I don't think it has them all. I'm not giving up my 2100 for 40mm optical.
