With the E-500 representing an improvement, but not an overwhelming improvement over the E-300, doesn't that make the E-300, two lens kit a real baragain?

nudge...nudge...I know that there are indeed folks out there who feel that the Olympus E-500 repesents a REAL improvement over the Olympus E-300.
Please share with me information that will re-direct my focusfrom the E-300 two lens outfit, to the new and so called "improved" E-500 two lens kit? The E-500 kit costs a full $150 more. This is critical, as I am about to place my order. Ultra |

I've seen the difference between the two at around $100... I know $100 is a big deal to most people, including myself.
I'm waiting for my local costco to switch from the E-300 to the E-500. I'll buy it and check it out. I am considering it, but with Canon's Triple rebate on the Rebel XT and lenses, you can get a Canon XT, with better lens choices in the future for about $100 more. You can check out my post on the canon lens section: http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...mp;forum_id=65 The triple rebate ends in January so you have a lot of time to think about it. The Costco's around my area has the E-300, Nikon D50 and Canon Rebel XT, so I'll buy each one and compare them for myself and then decide which one I'll keep. Hopefully, before I decide one of them would carry the E-500 so I can check that one also. Thanks to Costco's liberal return policy! This is how camera shopping should be :-) |

I think I'm ready to trade in my old FTN...the E-500 looks reasonable. What board have you seen where people have used one?

u cant just dismiss a camera based upon the specs. I WAS SO close to buying the E-1 based upon specs, but its noise was TERRIBLE @ high isos.
so, wait till it comes out, somepne buys it, an diss it when the pictures show up. |
