I've read that Sigma has made a few lenses for the four-thirds format. However, I seem to have trouble finding any on ebay or any other site. I'm specifically looking for the 105mm macro lens. Is there a true shortage for Olympus lenses compared to the other companies? Or is the 105mm macro for, say, the Pentax compatible with an E series? I like the E-500's features and quality, but I never knew it would be so hard to pick up a lens. Those Canon guys must love it.

Sigma only just recently announced that they'd be offering the 105mm Macro for 4/3's (announcement made on February 27th). 4 other lenses were included in the announcement, too.
http://www.sigmaphoto.com/news/news.asp?nID=3260 It takes a little time from the announcement before they'll actually have them manufacturered and ready to ship. Manufacturers often announce products a while before they're actually available. I haven't seen anything showing expected delivery dates yet. |

Here's a site that lists all the lenses that are available, or have been announced for 4/3 cameras:
http://www.wrotniak.net/photo/oly-e/lenses.html In the "Maker" column if there's no hotlink the lens isn't available yet. That's site's homepage is an AMAZING resource for info about 4/3 cameras: http://www.wrotniak.net/photo/oly-e/index.html |
