Birdies...

We received about 3 inches of snow last Saturday .... and I went to the Clifford E. Lee Natural Area (kind of a park taken care by volunteers) ... on Sunday.

There was snow everywhere (which is now about to be gone) so the birdies were kind of hiding. I was able to get some (including the last one hiding in the forest).

Note: I am not very good at taking shots of birds ... but I try! Both shot taken with E-30 and 50-200SWD.

Gilles, you did just fine! Youve managed to capture the "Holy Grail" of woodpeckers -- The Pileated Woodpecker!! I have yet to catch one. The first one is a White-breasted Nuthatch. They don't stay still very long, so you did a good job with this one.

Good shots Giles, we have Pileated around here but thats a tough focussing shot with all those twigs in front. Love the nuthatch.

You did well, Gilles! Nice photos - I hear woodpeckers around here all the time but never seem to be able to get close to one.
