Nice shots Zig. You're lucky you went down there. My sister in Greene NY got over 20 inches of snow last night. That's about 60 miles south of Syracuse. Looks like the weather there is very nice and the birds are being very cooperative : )

Zig, all good, but really, really like the pose in #1 of the white egret. You captured the look of concentration of the hunter, and the reflection adds just the right touch.
:cool2:

I love #3! Composition seems perfect.

Hi All,
Thanks guys. In case you're wondering, yes, I'm having a blast down here. The weather , to this point, is as good as I've ever experienced here in March. There has been a significant drought going on which has affected the waterfowl that normally would be here. None the less, there are plenty of Kodak moments to take advantage of.

The Heron in the 1st shot was an interesting study in that I was in a kneeling position for around 15 minutes trying to be still as not to disrupt this bird while it was on the hunt. It was very patient and would stand motionless for, what seemed like an eternity before it would extend it's neck trying to stab something in the water. I didn't see this bird actually catch anything.

In the end, the bird was more patient than I.
