Olympus USA made it official today for E-300 pricing:

not sure how you can compare any sigma or other lens to a zuiko, the difference in quality is like a hyundi versus a BMW, as far as IS goes, the 300mm telephoto i shoot with on my E1 does not have it, besides i would not want the soft pictures that come with IS, if paying for quality is out of your price range then maybe you should stick with sigma.

At about £5,000 in England(which is $10,000)the 300mmought to be good, but they won't sell many. It's about 5 times over-priced.There's no reason why IS should degrade the image.

When you do manage to test a production version of the E300 I hope the test will answer my question which is : Are the lenses up to the standard set by those that came with the E1? Or they "Consumer Quality"?
