Default A few favorites from San Francisco

Part 1...

What a wonderful place. Beautiful weather, with just the right combination of sunlight and fog to get some great scenic shots.

Left the E30 at home and took the E620 to use with my 12-60 and 50-200 SWD's, which did "OK", but as I shot with it I often felt like the E30 could have handled the deep dynamic range of a place like the Redwood forest of the Muir Woods much better. No matter, there was no shortage of great detail, sharpness and colors using the E620.

Last light in Golden Gate Park..

Cargo ship on the way out to sea, framed by the northern end of the Golden Gate Bridge..

A rare, solitary spot on Pier 39..

The fog was a wonderful thing to use for shots like this..

in-camera black & white shot, with the "yellow filter" applied..

Shot from the ferry during a late afternoon trip over to Sausalito.

Well, looks like you had great weather on your trip. And, you're right the E-620 did quite well.

I keep telling you that you missed you're calling. You should be a photo journalist for a travel magazine.

You know it's not too late..............

Glad you enjoyed your visit. I was fortunate to live in San Rafael (15 miles north of SF) for 10+ years. A very photographic part of the world. But mentioning fog... This from our deck one morning... Overlooking the SF bay and Highway 101. Those are tree tops in view...

The last shot is classic for the San Francisco Bay. Glad that you enjoyed the visit. Here is another summer shot of the Golden Gate bridge taken in 2005 with the E-300.

I especially liked the purple flowers against the foggy rock in the background.

Really super job on all your shots, as usual, Greg.

As many times as I've been there, makes me want to go back again, as it has been several years.

P.S. to Sarah -that is a super shot also.
