Nice capture Gary. I would not have guessed a Robin, I would be asking what kind of bird. Well done.

Yup, American Robin. I had to stuff a couple back in their nest last year..silly things thought they could fly, too soon.

Did you know (Oh here we go!) that they were almost hunted to extinction on the east coast, they were a delicacy....and easy to catch.

Put a baby swallow back into the birdhouse yesterday, he was flying, slowly about 1/2 inch above the ground, just stopped when I put my hands over him. He wouldn't have made the night out.

Ken, we got enough in our yard to keep them from extinction for the next ten thousand years if only one of their eggs makes it from one out of 20 robins here : )
