That's to bad, I really have a soft spot for cardinals but that is life when you're part of the food chain. We have lost quite a few birds at the feeders here to hawks but never a cardinal, at least none I've seen.
Good catch and good shots bud. I have 20 sets of cardinals here so keep your hawk in Kentucky : )

Those are some strong images that you captured, Gary. Maybe you should start training your hawks to go after the starlings!

Sad story, but this is how it goes in real life in the food chain.
Nice pictures Gary and pitty that the nice looking cardinal is no more.
One photo out of focus is a mistake, ten photo out of focus are an experimentation, one hundred photo out of focus are a style.
