Once she gets comfortable with the camera it would be very helpful for her to join the forum if just for reading the posts. There are a lot of knowledgeable people on here and friendly.

Interesting to get the others take on this kit. Here's mine...

The 50-200 was always one of my favorites from the Oly kit. I switched to Nikon a few years ago, but that lens is one I held on to. Really versatile and quite sharp. it can focus quite close and does well with flowers and the like.

The other lens that I loved, and still kept with my old Oly body was the 50 f2 macro. You also have the EC-20 teleconverter, which works well with the 50 f2. Yep, I kept that teleconverter too. The pair allows life size 1:1 macro and also has great image quality for portraits. The 50 f2 isn't the fastest focus lens, and can be a bit frustrating in that area, but oh my how sharp that lens can be!!!

Example from the 50f2/EC20

I sold thousands of dollars of Oly kit, but those I kept. Those lenses are outstanding.

I must agree with Greg regarding the 50-200; it is a marvelous lens that I use often. I do not have 50/f2 but I certainly would like having one....... My cameras include an E3 and m43 OMD EM-1.

BTW hello & Happy New Year to Greg........
