I have a chance to buy a canon D30 or an Olympus E20 both about the same price. Which is the better camera and gives the better image .
At the moment I have a Sony a Sony 717 which I dont like and will be selling very soon , Mick from U/K |

You do realize the D30 doesn't come with a lens, and some lenses are actually more expensive than the camera body? Assuming you do know that, and/or have an earlier investment on Canon glass, perhaps the D30 would be a better choice. But if you're starting fresh onto digital SLR's, an E-20 offers good optics, higher resolution, and dust-free handling (for a short time my E-10 and D100 coexisted, and during this time I had my D100 cleaned twice for dust on the sensor, something my E-10 never encountered).
