Greetings from the Philippines. Just finished a pre nup last Sat 11 Sept 2004 and found out later that my viewfinder has blacked out. Nothing I tried seemed to work but I can see my settings and the focus confirmation, the flasj is fired but no picture is made.
Would appreciate any one who has experienced this and what should be done. Is there a way to fix or should I just find a supplier here in the Phils. and have it fixed.?? thanks |

Hey doods,
It sounds like you may have encountered shutter failure. You've indicated you can see the settings in the viewfinder, so it rules out the eyepiece cover being closed, so I'm afraid it does sound like shutter failure. Try the 24 hours out of the cam trick, but you may end of sending it in. Is it still under warranty? Do a search over on dpreview and you'll see the history of it. -leighton |

Thank you somuch for your reply. I agree that a shutter failure is what happened.
I've already submited it to an authorized dealer here but warranty not valid since I bought it in Hongkong. Thanks again and God Bless |

doods...
There is a slider/lever that CLOSES the EVF for self timers photos. It is not automatic. It is manually moved by hand. Did you accidently move that lever/slider??? Check your manual. Maybe it will save you lots of money!!! ![]() |

Hi i've already sent it to the dealer and almost done. However, that is the first time that I have heard of that but if you are speaking of the lever right next to the viewfinder to its left, I have already checked that. I think that is the same lever you are referring to.
Thank you for the reply and God Bless |
