Hi, i'm a proud oly c740UZ user and now i'm going to buy a Digital SLR.
My idea was to take the e300, but in some review i've seen that the image quality of canon eos350D is better.

What i have to do???

Compare these

http://canon.pixelcritic.com
and
http://www.myfourthirds.com

I bought E-300 double lens over EOS 350D coz these reasons
1. E-300 has much better built quality (comparable to 20D)
2. User friendly menu
3. No dust no dead pixel
4. EZ 14-45 beats EFs 18-55
5. EZ 40-150 beats EF 55-200 and maybe tie with 70-200/4L

These are reasons for 350D
1. Better Hi ISO perfomance
2. Better auto white balance
3. Lighter (all plastic)

Whatever your decision, good luck and be happy with it. There's no perfect DSLR. Practice makes perfect.

Cheers
