Oregon, the wild side

Up early for a few shots as we went further South. The sea and wind were a little stronger today. The first 5 where along the beach at Bandon. One wouldn't want to be an old time sailor, in the fog, along that coast and there was fog and an onshore wind today.

Just in case you don't get a perception of size, there are people in a couple of the shots on the beach.

The Indians (or do I have to say Naive Americans these days. Whatever, I have the greatest respect for the original peoples.) Call this Face Rock, more of an island but it does have a face.

The further south we went the stronger the wind became This is Cape Blanco (Never understood this. To me it's White Cape or Cabo Blanco..! Spanish or English make up your mind.) In fact we heard later that the wind was blowing 104 kph while we were there. (65 mph) I hung onto a gatepost to shoot the lighthouse and the bay to the north. The spire of rock was in the lee of the Cape, notice the tire tracks.

The misty shot was a few miles south again at Port Orford, protected by another cape.

Simply beautiful, Ken! And you're right - a tough place to be a mariner.

Thanks you guys. It was a fun trip, I enjoyed getting out with the camera, I really have to learn to take and haul along my tripod on my tog trips. So many end up in low light situations.
Fighting the Verizon module right now trying to get a decent connection. Looks like the satalight has moved since I last used it...
Got spoilt along the way with the wifi in the hotels, there the limitation was the speed of my old notebook. Took a while to dump my card to the computer.
