Wow. What great detail of a soft pastel flower blossom without blowing out the highlights. Hard to do, but you really pulled it off. Spot metering?

Steve, for some reason this was a monster to get the right exposure so the true colors came through. I used center-weight metering, shot in RAW, used a TAD of bounced OCF with 1/4 CTO gel. This is the E-620 with Sigma 18-50mm.

I have also recently discovered that if I don't shoot RAW with this type of set-up, I get terrible red noise on the black/dark shadow areas. And, that happens with both DSLRs. I don't get that with the Fuji. Go figger! :)

Try using ESP Metering, with Center Weight the camera is reading the light in the middle of the frame and ignoring the dark background and maybe this is creating noise and exposure differences.

What source of light are you using?

Ambient. I'll give it a try, Marcelo. Thanks. :)

One of the unsung attributes of Oly DSLRs is how amazingly accurate the ESP metering is. You appreciate it a lot after you use another brand of camera - my L1 doesn't come close and the silver top version of that camera wears the Leica brand.
