Snake Bird

Another of my local neiborhood birds sunning himself in a tree. The Anhinga is a cousin to the familiar Cormorant, and is also nicknamed the "Snake Bird". This nickname comes from the way it swims in the water, with its body sumerged and only the long neck and head sticking out above the surface. They can dive deep for fish, and are very good fishermen. Anyway, this one was perched on a tree out in the wetlands, and I could not get very close before he flew away.

E-3 and 50-200mm, ISO 100 @f4 and 1/400sec.
