Hi: I can't take any personal credit for the ability of getting close to these birds.

I wish I could say that I have some special talent for sneaking up on the birds. It is not me, it is the location where I live. Florida has so many birds that hang around the the water, that they are well used to all the people around. Between the tourists and the natives, the birds get very used to sharing almost any shoreline with people.

For example, here is a shot of a Great Egret taken with an E-3 and the 42mm kit lens. I had to take off the 50-200mm lens and put on the my old 14-42 kit lens in order to get the layout I wanted.
