Default Took some Zoo portraits today.

A trip to the Zoo carrying only the Sigma 50-500mm + EC14 on the E-30 set to A mode at f/11 and 800 ISO.

It was another hot day so the animals where off hiding in the shade, a lot fewer keepers than I would have liked.

1/800s 708mm

1/640s 164mm

1/50s 411mm

1/60s 708mm

1/640s 708mm

1/50 708mm

I was using a monopod and IS 1, would have had better luck using a tripod, but it was just to hot to lug one around (forgot to bring the sherpa ).

PP in PSE 7, no cropping or Noise reduction used.

Default Hi

These are some of the sharpest images I've seen yet produced with the Sigma 50-500mm regardless of what camera body was used. The 2 images of the Eagle are especially impressive. Great detail!

I picked up a 400mm Tokina MF ATX SD 5.6 lens just recently as a stop gap measure. But, I know that at some point I'm going to look into getting one of these.
Your images just made it a bit easier to make a decision.

Thanks for sharing.
