Wandering on Whidbey Island

5 Attachment(s)
I had to take the ferry over to Whidbey Island the other day. Had a home inspection and a septic pumping I just couldn't pass up..:)

There's some nice rural roads and beach areas on the way and I noticed this old homestead. So, after introducing the client to the inspector, I got out of their way, took my camera and tried a couple of shots.

I used the E500 and the kit 40-150. I took some shots that I thought should be decent but didn't look so good on screen.

I liked these, what do you guys think?

Interesting shots, I like the blue flower the best; the blue really stands out from all the gold tones all around it. The other shots have a really interesting composition, but all seem somewhat soft on my monitor. ??

Thanks Steven. These are the best of err...a lot of shots, I keep trying to tell myself that the lens is better than me so it must be me. Even on a pod though they're like that. Might just have to pony up for a better lens in that focal area......shame......

What lens and what shutter speed?

Sorry. they were all with the 40-150 kit lens. (Hey, I hadn't cleaned off my card.) 1/320 @f6.3. I shot at 200 ISO to gain another stop without pushing it.
They were all at 320 or 400 speed and focal lengths were only between 40 and 80 except the flower, that was 150, so no excuses there.
