I have just bought the E500. Out from the sealed box I use the procedures to check the shutter count. It is surprising to see the count number as many as 60 times.Will this be an average number of factory test ?The shop confirms that they sell factory sealed items.Has anybodychecked this count number, out from the box, like I do ? Thanks for any comment in advance.

I don't doubt they test them prior to shipment. I've never even thought about how many times or what methods are used (do they test them all, or just random bodies in the line?), but to me 60 cycles is nothin' on one of these.

@Greg

thank you for your comment. My curiosity has started when I notice the shutter count tends to vary from one shop to another. A friend of mine bought the demo unit from other shop and his count is just 37 times. When we pay for a digicam at a sealed box price, I believe we also expect it to be truly new.

Mine didn't have any on the count. My guess is that you got a camera that someone had bought and then returned, or perhaps a demo. I'd return it and ask for a camera that is really new.

@jimkurta

thank you for your comment. It is a good piece of evidence that a real new camera should be that way.
