Those two wide Voigtlander lenses can't be mounted on any DSLR because they have non-retrofocus designs - i.e. they protrude too far back into the camera body, and they would interfere with the mirror. They can be mounted on either a Leica M8 or Epson RD-1 digital rangefinder bodies, however.

I shoot my DSLR's RAW 100% of the time and the E-300 almost begs it because the average white balance is very unpredictable.
I have heard that before. Personally I have never had white balance problems I couldn't explain: if there is no white in a photo, you risk that white balance goes wrong with any camera.

I can't see much difference in quality between raw and jpg either, but then again I spend my time taking photos and never pixel-peep.

Maybe my e-300, e-500 and kit lenses are special so I should put it in the safe?

Hi Riley

I think the E300 a coolish looking cam esp with that lens on it but do prefer the E330. Adorama is selling the E330 new for $540 body only which I think is a steal. Not sure whats happend to all the e1's on ebay - they've just seemed to have vanished so I'm happy to have snapped mine up when I did. from digitaldepot

Cheers

hi Harj
body only could be good if i had a decent wide for it here, but i dont
that said I would probably replace the kit lens pronto anyways

hmm, so why do you prefer the E330 ?

Hi Riley

I think that Oly in terms of ergonomics and slightly better looks got it right with the E330 and more importantly for me is the live preview with that tilt-swivel articulated screen. For macro and landscape shots thats got to be so useful and you could be ever so discreet for the street and candid shots. IQ wise I can't really say which is better as theyre both capable cameras - although the E330's got the newer sensor so I'm assuming better ISO800/1600 and it does have a faster AF compared to both E1/E300.

Cheers

all good points Harj
For me the most usefull part is the LCD, which I often miss while shooting overhead. Interestingly, in steves review of the E330, within the sample images that capture of the red building he always makes is very very soft. Probably just a bad frame i guess.

Im thinking in this next month or so, the dSLR market is going to be a bit of a battleground for market share, so Ill see what shakes out. Certainly there are some stunning deals with Olys at the mo.
