Hi Ken

I like some of those lenses that you've listed - I'm personally looking to get the Leica D 25mm f1.4, 45 f2 OIS macro or the 50mm f2 but the lens that I really would be able to afford and want would be the 36-108mm f2.8-3.5 unless I win teh lottery and then Id get the 35-100 f2!

Regarding Fuji and 4/3 they used to be part of the group but I don;t think they are as theyre no longer listed on the offical website. It would have seriously cool if Fuji did offer a 4/3 DSLr with one of their sensors but I would have thought that Fuji would have done so much earlier on. Sensor wise, I think we're going be in for a treat from either Kodak or Pana - esp the Kodak and if they can transfer the best of the qualities from the M8 sensor to a 4/3 sized version.

Cheers

Ken i based my ideas on what i could see, not on what i might see
the fuji S5 does seem very promissing doesnt it. but looking at the very best S3 images without noise, and the M8 when it works well, and there is still no comparison.

The F30 is a favourite camera with good iso performance, but thats not a foveon, not that it matters. When you look into it carefully, the results are a product of both the staggered photosites on the sensor and processing technology within. The trade for detail loss v/s noise is common now, but wouldnt be likely to positively affect RAW performance much, Still i hear what you say, its impressive on a small sensor

I made a mistake and Fuji are still listed as part of the companies supporting Four Thirds:

http://www.four-thirds.org/en/about/group.html

So you never know we may see a 4/3 Fuji sensor after all.

Hi Folks,

I had sent a mail to Olympus UK support stating concerns
over further discontinuation of the said models related to
their firmware developement/releases.

The reply does not list E1,E-500 and E-300 as current models.
However it doesn't make any difference to firmware releases.

Cheers,

PMA is like January isnt it ?

one clue ive seen
there have been a few mentions of 640 iso
which is an odd iso number in digital terms
but the M8 runs a 640iso

sorta makes you think doesnt it
