I went straight for the 14-54 over the kit lens. Yes, worth every penny, no regrets. Read the review at Photozone.They also review the 14-45 (a good value) but for me it's the faster f/2.8 and barrel-distortion comparison at the wide end that made the decision. The 14-54 also has great macro capabilities for a standard zoom. One final note, the 14-54 is weather-sealed so it compliments my E-1.

Thanks Join,
This lens is better then the 14-45mm,
But the prices are pretty steep, worth it or not,
is a very subjective judgement of individual.
stowaway7 give a very good comments.

I'll make full uses of it to cover the hole in my pocket.
