Canon's new flagship 1DS MKIII 10MP now has a 3" LCD that has Liveview! I wonder if we'll begin to see LV in the 5D+ and other DSLR's. Now how will this effect Oly's plan for LV with E1P (which now looks to have been the right thing to do) and other cam's? Also I think we need to watch for Sony and PanaLeica as they've been pretty quiet lately and anything that PanaLeica have will more than likely be available in an Oly cam. Its going to be a pretty interesting time ahead.

Basic specs:

10.1MP APS-H CMOS sensor
ISO100-3200 (but possible to do ISO50 and 6400)
Intergrated cleaning system
3" 230k LCD with LV
10fps
45 AF points, etc

Cheers

The Canon 20Da also had live view, before the E-330 came out.

I saw something about this live view be relegated to manual focusing only. Somehow, though, I expect all whocriticized this feature on Olympus cameras, praising it on this Canon.

Yeah .. I know what you guys mean - theres been a lot of negativity towards LV and even from some Oly users (over at Dpreview's Oly forum) . Personally, having used my FZ10 for nearly 2 years I found not having it a real pain in the butt. Kudos to Oly/PanaLeica and now Canon for LV.

The Olympus E-10 had real live view long before the 30 second monochrme version on the Fuji S2, or the only at night version on the Canon 20DA .
