Hi all,

I'm looking for some advice. I've seen some Opteka lenses pretty cheap on ebay. I looked on the company's website and found a 650-1300mm f/8-16 listed at $299.95. I've searched google and can't find any reviews. Except for one guy on another forum that claims these seem to be same as Vivitar, I can find no user testimonials. Anyone here has experience with these lenses? It may be cheap compared to other lenses but $300 is a lot to pay for junk glass. Any recommendation?

Thanks

The first question is, what type of mount does this lens have?

If it's a T-mount, you'll need a T-mount to 4/3 adapter (personally I use a T-mount to OM adapter and then an OM-4/3 adapter with my 500mm T-mount lens).

If it's anything else, you may be stuck.

The one's I've seen on ebay often state "T-mount adapter for Olympus included" and or "MF-1 adapter included". I already own the OM-4/3 adapter. My question is more about the quality of these lenses. Are you an owner of Opteka lens? Can you share some pics?

Thanks

No, as I said in my manual I own a 500mm lens (made by Soligor).

Take a look at this message for someone who owned the Opteka:

The 600-2600mm mentioned is a 600-1300mm with a 2x converter also included in the kit.
