At the portrait master classes the instructors were using a I think a Nikkor 105mm macro f2.8 lens on the D300 and later the D3. Does anyone know if the 35-100 or the 14-54 works well with Oly's macro convertor to be used as a portrait lens, so that you can get that wee bit closer ?

Cheers

How close are you trying to get, trying to photograph their dental work or their pores?

This page specifies the distances for the EX-25:

As for closeup filters, the furthest focusing distance is one over the number of the diopter...a +2 diopter has the maximum focusing distance of 1/2 metre...+3 is 1/3 of a metre.

Hi Mike

Thanks for the reply, I hadn't thought about pores* but teeth are definite no-no! On a serious note I'd like to be able to take something like this shot:

Taken with a Sigma Sd14 but I don;t know which lens was used but I'm assuming its a macro.

Cheers

Harj

This is off the subject Harj, but those lips look like they would just drip all over a guy. I'm old but not old enough not to notice.
