Hi Ted

I've got a Seagate Freestyle Pro 500Gb drive (FW, USB2/E-sata) at the moment - but the disk is already faulty and am looking at a 1TB external but my thoughts are now how do you back that up as well - apart from mirroring two drives like yourself.

Cheers

Harj

If that's a Western Digital MyBook like Sam's Club sells, let me know before you buy one because there are a LOT of disadvantages to that drive.

At the moment - I want to get another FW capable drive and once I;ve got all the data off the current seagate drive, I'm planning to replace the internal SATA disk with another 750GB or higher drive. I like the Seagate Pro and if I can reuse the case then thats cool.
Not sure about getting a NAS just yet.

Cheers

PS

Came across this little tidbit over at the leica forum :

http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-...w-tif-jpg.html

Esp like Guys work flow - 16bit Tiff's + low res jpegs for clients. I just might do the same. I think I'll save 16bit PSD files and save 8bit jpegs for uploading to smugmug etc and when I need to send something off to print send a 16bit Tiff.
