This is my first attempt at a Panorama. i dont have a pano tripod, so it was all hand held. the exposure is off in some shots, but i dont mind since this was just a test.

Hi,

For a first attempt, that panorama shot looks pretty nice. Not sure what stitching software you used but you may want to give http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~mbrown/autostitch/autostitch.html

a look see. They have a free demo version. The reason I sauggested it is, if memory serves me right, the software also had a blending feature that helped eliminate the different coloration/shadows/etc.

If the above link doesn't work, you can simply type in autostitch.net

I've never done a planetoid ... that looks pretty strange.

Good job on that panorama. To help with the tonal differences, you could try setting the exposure from the same part of the picture each time (choose a spot thats in the middle brightness wise). That would make the job of the sticj=her easier and look less chopped.

hi gwillys,

thanks. & its pretty simple. open the your pano image in photoshop resize it to a even square (e.g. 2000x2000) turn off the constrain proportion.

then flip the image 180degree's

go to filters - distort - polor cordinates (select rectanglur to polar)

and your should get a planetoid. this is the photoshop method. there's ways of doing it with hugin's and other stitching programs that won't give you the pointed distortion in the middle of the image...but i havent figured that out yet. but this is good enough for me.

hi PLtommyO,

thanks for the advice!
