I finally placed my order for the E3 power grip - I doubt I'll ever use it as I like my camera to be as discreet as possible but I can see the benefits of it in a studio. It should arrive next week.

The offer for the free power grip ends 31st March so if you haven't done so, check out the oly europe website and send an e-mail to :

http://www.olympus-europa.com/consum..._powergrip.htm

[email protected] with a copy of proof of purchase.

Cheers

I do not want it, even not for free! E3 is hefty already without it. Adding the thing makes it too big. If Olympus want to give us a present, give me a fast battery charger.

Hi, Terpentijn

You may not know that when you charge a battery faster, its temperature rises and that reduces the battery life in the long run. That's why companies tend to produce battery chargers that seem slow to us. In the US, the Duracell company produced a set of NiMH batteries designed for fast recharging, but those batteries use a special charger that has a cooling fan to keep the NiMH batteries from overheating.

I suspect that the Oly fast charger would be OK to use once in a while, but constant use will likely cause you to replace the Oly batteries more often than you otherwise would. Of course, if fast recharging is more important to you than the ultimate life and cost to replace the batteries, you should use a faster charger.

Hi Ted,

Yes, I did not know that, because I work (with my wife) three e's it happens that we run out of batteries. To solve this I bought some extra BLM-1 and charge them with the slow chargers.

Thanks for the advice.

(So, if I do not want a fast charger, can I opt for an EC-20?:roll
