spring is here, and the garden of weedin' is abundant with life...a lot of these were experiments with DOF to see what i could and couldn't do...comments and critiques welcome

HI Edge

Firstly from the pics I';d say you have a wonderful garden and it must be a joy to have (excluding the wedding) . I like a lot of the pics, esp the first two, the shot with leaves and waterdrops but theres a few that I'm not too sure on and thats simply down to the crop beign a bit too close plus a wee too much shallow DOF. Then again as you said your experimenting so its all good to see what works and what doesn't.

Cheers

Harj

thanks fellas, yeah harj, the garden is great, even weeding is kinda therapeutic...:?

The shallow DOF from the 50mm F2 is a hard one to master, i'm trying to find the correct distance and F stop ...distance first, i'll work on f stop a bit later, it's a great lens and the bokeh is phenomenal. If i would have stopped down a few stops i probably could have eliminated most of my DOF issues, the wind was causing some problems as well, quite breezy on these days, but my shutter speed is really fast on most shots. I varied between ISO 100, 125 and 200. I think my neighbors think i'm crazy crawling around like a commando with a camera in my hand...lol
