Hi All,

Just had an opportunity to pick up an Olympus 35mm Macro lens today, for "a price I couldn't refuse".

Anyways, here's a quick shot of some Phlox that's growing on a rock wall in the backyard.

First impression is that it's not anywhere near as sharp as the 50mm F2. I also, need to get morefamiliar with this little lens. But at $140US (used) it's a good deal.

Comments and criticisms both pro and con are always welcome.

Hey G,

I've also heard and read good things about this little budget lens too.

I'm going to try taking some shots again in the morning as the lighting was lousy-gray and overcast. It was also pretty windy so I had to wait for the wind to subside so the flowers wouldn't move back and forth. Supposedly, the Sun isgoing to be out.

I did use the tripod though. As for the manual focus, well, if your someone like me who wears glasses, the E-510's OPV is fun and games.

I'm tempted to get a used E-1 body just for the larger OPV. Since it doesn't have IS , I'd just use it for tripod work.

Hi All,

This is a second try at taking a shot ( with the 35mm macro) of some Phlox growing on my backwall.

This shot is as it came out of the camera. No cropping- no sharpening.

Only PP is to color correction and a slight levels adjustment. Shot as a JPEG.
