I'm sure you've all had new neighbours move into your area. We did over the weekend.
They were a little different though. They brought their own house with them!!!

It came up from Seattle to the Island by barge. It's a 1920 home that went for free. The new owner will rebuild the porches when it's on site.

At least the weather worked for them, the following day was wind, rain and hail.

The barge was pushed up against a concrete bulkhead and as the tide came up they put up metal ramps for the truck and trailer laden with the house to drive off.

Next day they drove it the two miles across the island and up our lane, They had quitw a crowd out both days....We don't get a lot of entertainment around here..:-)

Here they are coming up our lane and trying (Well they did but it was tight) to make a tight turn onto a gravel roadway. Photos from my yard.

Yup they made it. They're planning on sliding it onto a foundation today. I'll go back there with my camera later.

All with the E500 and kit lenses. (14-45 & 40-150)

Ken: that is so cool

I've never had neighbors bring their new house with them!! Give them some prints of your shots; I'll bet they will really appreciate it, and it will make a good housewarming gift.
