Good industrial design doesn't happen as much as it used to, with the almighty bottom line driving everything. But here's something that the designers really thought through.

This is a recently introduced DVD printer (it prints ink-jetlabels onto an inkjet-printable DVD±R disk). It is the Dymo DiskPainter. In the photo below, it is shown next to a jewel case. Note that it is absolutely no larger than it needs to be to hold a DVD disk drive and an inkjet cartridge, and along with that they managed to make the printervery attractive. (How often does that happen?)

[Keeping this OT in this forum, image taken with an E3 and Leica 14-50 f/2.8-3.5 (grin).]

Ted

PS: BTW, it also prints well, usingtechnology that overcomes the normal problem with holding the disk in place without moving, while printing.

Hi Ted

Its always good to see something thats been well thought out and designed - looks like they've applied the good old design for manufacturing and assembly.

Cheers

Harj

Hi Ted,

That's a pretty cool looking gizmo

As for the photograph using the E-3; since this an Oly forum and we do want to limit our discussions to all things photographic

This must be then an example of a normal photo taken by a normal person:?:?"properly" exposed to a "normally-lit" scene. Is it not?

Zig

Hi, Zig

You were doing fine except for the normal person part.

(grin)
