'Not sure why you'reinterested such a long slow lens'

But since you've taken the plunge, have fun with it and take lots of photos.

Waiting saved you $100. I bought mine locally for $389 and had to pay sales tax a few months ago.

I think you'll like it!

Yeh! I finally submitted to the arm twisting I was getting on this board and went to Amazon too.

...and I haven't regretted it one bit. Great lens for the cash. Love the macro capability and the length. Remember...it does need light and or a pod.

And now we wait for Friday nights posting........:-)

..........he he he he !!

Sure is fun, the urging and prickling.......... then the rush of it all and finally POW !!! we start seeing great stuff from yet another.

I can hardly wait for whom is first here with the 9-18, maybe Sig or Zig.

Olympus ought to send royalty money to Steve's so we can get that 'DELETE my post' button written into the forum tools. I too could use it from time to time.

It's going to cost you another $30 for a monopod, but a monopod is indispensible with that baby. You'll love it.

Chappy, our son's Lab was licking his chops after taking a swim in the warm ocean waters on Martha's Vineyard this past weekend.

E-510, 70-300mm lens, @300mm f10 1/640 no crop --no pp

Geezus!!! Makes me feel cold when I look out of the window here. The Puget Sound as pretty as it is to photograph is just 55 degrees in the winter. In the summer though it warms up all the way to 58 degees F. That means if you fall in off your (my) sailboat, somebody better get you out of there within 20 minutes or you're a popsicle....

Oh, and I love the photo Ziggy, Chappy looks like a great dog....
Nice lens to get that, everyone should have one.......:-)

Just for grins, take a look at these...

http://norpheus.smugmug.com/gallery/6038502_HDEti#P-5-3

Those are from the Panasonic LX3, some shot at the 24mm setting at f2, and some shot with the 18mm conversion lens fitted, 18mm and f2!
