For those interested in the 9-18mm lens, here is a detailed review just posted by John Foster at his website.

Hi Zig

Thanks for posting the review - it was nice read esp as it looks as if the 9-18 is no slouch in terms of IQ and for the price compared to the 7-14 is a steal.

Cheers

Hi Harj,

I've made no secret of my interest in this lens ever since I've read about it's press release. That's why I was especially happy to see that John Foster was able to get his hands on one and do a fairly complete analysis of it's qualities. I certainly didn't have any illusions that it would outperform the 7-14mm lens. At roughly 40% of the cost of the 7-14mm, it sounds like a good budget lens that would meet my needs.

As much as I would love to havethe 7-14mm, 'real world' contraints dictate that I look at lower cost alternatives. This one looks like it may be thefirst lens on my wish list.

Zig
