I just spotted this little review of the 9-18 posted by Doug B over at DPR.

http://torontowide.blogspot.com/

Personally, I think its a pretty good review of the lens thats gives a real users perspective on how good the lens may or may not be. Definitely worth a read.

Cheers

Harj,
.................thanks for posting the link

I've said that I might like having the 9-18 and if all reviews (that I read) are as positive as Mr. Brown's then I just may have a try at one. It would make a great lightweight combo with my E-300.

Hi Bob

its an interesting lens, esp if its IQ is as good as some of the users are stating and DOug's review clearly hints at that. FOr the price I wish it's build quality was slightly better than kit lens but then they would have had to call it an HG lens.

At the mo I'm holding off on any purchases, unless I'm getting paid to shoot and can cover the cost but the 9-18 or 11-22 look pretty tempting. the other thing that is makign me hold off is whether any lens I buy will be CAF capable. I woudnt want to get the 11-22 and find its not andOLy release a MKII that is.

Cheers

Hi Harj,

This was a great article to read as it comes from the view of the photographer. John Foster's review of this lens is also worth a read.

Good catch and thanks for pointing it out.
