I ran my first preliminary check for noise at high ISO settings this morning (12/11) in our nearly darkened great room just arount 6:30am when the light was marginal. These were with the E520 equipped with the ZD 40-150mm lens and the camera on a tripod.

Sarah,

What are your own observations in looking at the original-sized images? The two images as posted both look very good at the size they are posted at. I'm no pixel-peeper. Looking at my ownfull resolution images I'm always happy ifthey look goodviewing them one step down (3XL)from 100% on my Smugmug page. That's usually much larger than I'd ever print them at.

Greg-

I agree that they look pretty good. I was pleased with the result. Now I have to snort around and find my ZD 50mm F 2.0 lens and see how that looks noise-wise.

It nice to be back and working with the Olympus cameras again.

Hey Sarah

Just spotted the post and the ISO1600 shot looks very good indeed - from that size there appears to be no banding at all and the image looks as detailed as ISo 800.

Cheers

Harj

:O :?
