We have had mixed rain and snow all day long along the Oregon Coast line. So for fun I pulled out my E-410 that has been sitting on the shelf gathering dust.

It only has digital stabilization just like the old camcorders, rather than in body IS like a E-510 or E-520. Thinking high shutter speed to stabilize things, I was amazed at how well it did at ISO 1600.

It short it was a fun experiment and I had fun shooting photos inside nice and warm and dry.

By the way, here is what the weather looks like out the window right now as well. Also with the E-410.

Don't put the E-4xx bodies down just because they don't have IS...we did take pictures before IS was invented, even before ISO 1600, 800, 400, etc. speed film was invented. Back then we learned how not to breathe in order to hold the camera steady. For example here's a shot I took from this past summer handholding for 2.5 seconds with the E-330:

Nice job, Mike-

I like that photo a lot. Later in the day I mounted the ZD 14-42mm kit lens and the FL-50 and shot some hand held bounce shots with the E-410.

Here is an existing light photo captured with the E-410 mounting the ZD 50mm F 2.0 lens. It was taken at F2.0 at ISO 200 using just window lighting.
