Hi Ted

Hey I didn;t know that the LEica D only would open up to 1.8! Now that would have been really peeving me off had i snapped up the 1.4 to find it was being crippled. I've not done any new tests yet, so I'm going to be intrested to see if its fixed the odd front/back focusing issues I;ve seen in a few shots recently.

I was a bit annoyed that all of the settings got wiped out and I had to really search about how to get the Super fine jpeg settings again - I just can;t understand why its not the default highest setting for jpegs.

Cheers

Harj

:O :?

Hi, Harj

Well from what Greg said, I assume this won't happen to us when going from 1.4 to 1.5. And yes - changing the default jpeg compression is absurdly difficult in that menu system - you really have to study the manual to remember how to do it.

Harj, I had mixed emotions about it. I wouldn't normally shoot an f/1.4 lens wide open unless absolutely necessary so the f/1.8 max setting on the E-3 didn't bother me as much as it might have. And like all of the PL high-end 4/3 lenses, that one is superb.

It's a mystery to me as to why it's so hard to get - it's always on back-order at B&H.
