Default E3 and E30 users- Firmware updates for Lenses

Just saw an article over at DPReview where the firmware in certain Zuikos can be updated to improve continuous AF performance during sequential shooting on the E3 and E30. This is an update for the lenses, not the bodies. The included lenses are the 70-300, 18-180, 8mm fisheye or, Zig, for that 90-250 f2.8 I'm sure you are picking up soon to use with your E30!

Default 90-250mm lens? - it's in the bag!

Hi Greg,

Gonna pick me up one of them 90-250's right after the Belmont. Just going to place a bet on whatever horse Calvin Borel is gonna ride that day

I guess the firmware in the 50-200 is already optimized, as it would seem the be the most obvious choice for a firmware update for the vast majority of people other than the 70-300. The set of lenses affected is interesting. Can't you just see all the owners of the 8mm fisheye running to do this! If I owned the lens I'd update the firmware....I'm just not sure I would ever be using that lens in any sort of burst that required the use of continuous AF.

If I ever were to lay out the cash it takes to buy the 90-250mm f2.8 Zuiko, I would want to register my email address with Olympus and would expect a personal email from the head of the group that initiates these updates!
