Default Test results Of the Oly E-520 IS system

Heres an interesting article and review of the image stabilization system employed by Olympus. in their E-520 series cameras. The tests were performed by Imaging Resource. The test results will surprise you.

It does work very well in extending hand holding at lower shutter speeds. The thing I have found at the opposite end, when used at higher shutter speeds, I get better results with stabilization on my E520 turned off, so that is now my defualt setting. If I get into a low light situation where I feel there might be a benefit I turn it back on, but these days my E520 powers down much more often without the rattling noise of the IS system resetting itself.
