I've never had a camera in a coat pocket (or had a desire to put a camera in my coat pocket), the smallest camera I've had on a vacation is the one in the one in my avatar, otherwise my film SLR I used for 20 years was E-420 sized.

What I used to do is carry a camera bag that was the norm then (about 12"Lx9"Hx5"T) but today I use a light duty backpack and use a pouch for each lens I carry and a moulded SLR case CS3-SH so they don't get damaged inside the backpack.

My whole concept of a retracting mount was to make a micro 4/3 pocketable. You said you just detach the lens from your DSLR, but then STILL carry the whole lot in a camera bag or a backpack. So this is NOT traveling light.
It sounds like you don't want to accept that some people want the camera to be small..... like a woman carrying a micro 4/3 camera in a fairly small handbag. What is wrong with her doing that??
